Lefkes, a picturesque village in the inland of Paros, is one of the most
beautiful and traditional spots of the island. Built amphitheatrically on the
slopes of a hill in the heart of the island, Lefkes offers spectacular views of
both the Aegean Sea and the surrounding landscapes.
The architecture of the village is typical of
the Cyclades, with the white houses, the narrow cobbled streets and the
flowered courtyards that create a unique atmosphere.
The church of Ag. Triada in Lefkes stands on a small hill with two huge
bell towers, which force you to tilt your head back, towards the sky, in order
to see them at their full height. Its iconostasis is marble, an excellent work
of a Tinian marble sculptor, and is considered to be the second most
magnificent church of Paros after the insurmountable Ekatontapyliani.
